what I’ve been making

July 19, 2007

I finally feel like posting about all of the items I’ve been creating over the past few days. The ear infection is getting better, but still annoying.

First, chocolate peanut butter shells are possibly the best vegan cookie recipe I’ve tried so far! They are amazingly delicious! I took them to a family cookout and they disappeared before I knew it. I don’t even think anyone knew they were vegan. Thank you to Squirrel’s Vegan Kitchen for the great recipe. (I plan to make her Boston cream pie for Stegan’s birthday.)

Secondly, I’ve been breaking in my sewing machine’s zipper foot. I made two zippered pouches using the tutorial from splityarn. This one:

is going to be my new pencil/pen/Sharpie pouch for school. That way I can have all my writing implements close at hand. I love the fabric and bought the rest of the bolt on clearance. Now I need to figure out what to make with it. Suggestions?

I also made this wristlet:

for a friend as a bridal shower gift (and if you’re reading this, I don’t care if you know - you’re going to get it in 2 days!). I think she’ll love the fabric and I love the hot pink lining.

I also made another friend a business card holder as a birthday gift:

She’s a massage therapist and I thought it would nice to keep her cards.

The packing is getting intense and I’m trying to decide if I should sew one more thing before packing up the machine. Decisions decisions.
