We just moved from Shampoo-Banana, IL to Silver Spring, MD and already there are things I will miss, including:
- All the great people we’ve met
- GSLIS – You’ve grown to be like a second home. I’ll miss the LRL and all the wonderful faculty and staff, especially Rae and Linda.
- Champaign Public Library – how I love thee. You have a great crafting section, wonderful fiction and non-fiction, and wonderful magazines, DVDs, and CDs. And you are only 2 blocks from our apartment. Best. Public. Library. Ever.
Food I’ll miss (clearly this is important to me):
- Esquire – great bar, free peanuts you can throw on the floor, $4.75 pitchers of PBR, and great fried food. What else could one want in life?
- Cocomero – the new frozen yogurt place on campus
- Xinh Xinh Cafe in Urbana – great tofu banh mi sandwiches
- Boltini – good food and drink, but better Tuesday night entertainment. Bingo was awesome and trivia is ok too.
Won’t really miss so much:
- Wind – especially on cold winter mornings while waiting for the bus
- The flat – driving is so boring with all the flat and straight
- The lack of water features
